Provision of safe, secure and serviceable facilities for care of the young and the elderly is important within our modern communities. Ollie Kenny Ltd have experience and skills in the building for creches and care units. These facilities have particular requirements for specialist lighting, security, access control, CCTV, nurse call, IT systems and fire detection. The centre included a modern 'state of the art' creche for which we provided heating, lighting, lift and electrical services. Within the creche underfloor heating was provided to ensure low surface temperature and minimum visible services within the area.
The commercial buildings have been grouped together in a cohesive formation with the nursing home in prime location presenting the all important impression of the site to passers by. The underlying design objective is the creation of specific characterised areas within the overall scheme, each having its own sense of place. This development tones in with the quiet residential area in which it is located, that creates a peaceful setting. The combination of the creche, nursing home and residential area in the one location creates an atmosphere for both young and old.
